Hiking In The Winter
Winter can be an amazing time to be outside. It is a different experience and has a completely different feel, other then just being colder. There are some gorgeous parks in the Kentuckiana area that have organized some hikes around the new year start. It gets more people in touch with nature, and it is good exercise. There is a hike on December 29 at Jefferson Memorial Forest & Natural Areas. The 2 mile trail has descent into a large valley and crosses a stream and is loaded with breathtaking views. Another hike is happening at Charlestown State Park on January 1st to help kick off your new year’s resolutions. The hike includes views of the Ohio River and a lovely forest that is filled with life even in the winter. The Falls Of The Ohio River State Park is also hosting a hike on January 1st. It follows the upper fossil bed along the Ohio River. There is plenty to see from the birds to the plants and all the other creatures that are running around. If you have any interest in attending these hiking events I have links to Facebook events bellow that contain addresses and times.
